We had a large turnout for our second fundraiser, September 15, 2007, at the Pomaria City Park off highway 176.  We had a delicious fish fry and visited with friends and family from across the state. We were excited to raise over $1,000 towards the building refurbishment fund!.

On June 29th, the historic Hope School Community Center, Inc. was awarded a grant from the State of South Carolina for building restoration.

On April 13, 2007, the Hope School Community Center's application for inclusion on the National Historic Register was approved unanimously by the South Carolina State Board of Review. The meeting was held at the SC Archives and History Center, Eric Plaag, Historic Preservation Consultant, presented our nomination to the members of the State Board.  Our presentation was one of 14 that were made that day.  In the audience from HSCC were Tenetha Hall, Ron Hope, Bonita Heller and Jay Hope.  The nomination was forwarded to the National Park Service for federal approval, which usually is just a formality, we should hear good news in October.
