Grant Awarded
On June 29th, the historic Hope School Community Center, Inc. was awarded a grant from the State of South Carolina for
building restoration.

News
On April 13, 2007, the
Hope School Community Center's application for inclusion on the National Historic Register was approved unanimously
by the South Carolina State Board of Review. The meeting was held at the SC Archives and History Center, Eric Plaag,
Historic Preservation Consultant, presented our nomination to the members of the State Board. Our presentation was one
of 14 that were made that day. In the audience from HSCC were Tenetha Hall, Ron Hope, Bonita Heller and
Jay Hope. The nomination was forwarded to the National Park Service for federal
approval, which usually is just a formality, we should hear good news in October.

2009 Events
We
meet every second Saturday for our Monthly member meeting at the former Pomaria Elementary School on Folk St. in Pomaria.
Our meeting time is 10am - 12am. We welcome visitors and anyone interested in learning more about Hope School Community
Center (HSCC). Prospective members are welcome to learn more about us by attending an event.
